I really think DAVAO city should

have a STRONG and GENUINE laws

that would surely benefit it's

workforce. Specially for those

workers who's into ICT and BPO

industry. Genuine HEALTH CARE

and medical attention should be

lifted up for those workers.

I've been working in a call

center here in davao for over 2

years now...on the 2 companies

that i have worked with, I never

had any medical or health care

benefits attained. Yes,

Philhealth is there, but I don't

think an insurance is necessary

when you're not confined in a

hospital or something that

requires the use of that

insurance. What I want, I mean,

WE want is a CONSISTENT

QUARTERLY medical check-ups,

either dental, optical,

everything!!!! All should be

provided to us, and given for

FREE.

I hope you guys on the

government side would give

enough attention in to this

matter. And hopefully, we could

see your effort and necessary

action sooner. Remember, DAVAO

is cited as the next BPO capital

of the country because of the

quality of its workforce.

I think having this kind of

policy or law is just like

"paying back the workers" of

what they have contributed to

the city's economy. Since, We,

the workers, are one of the

city's precious investment.

right?

Oh, please focus on small ICT

and BPO companies...please! oh,

salaries, incentives, benefits

of the workers should be

monitored as well. PLEASE!!!

I'm Paolo Bataller and I would just like to ask if I could be provided with a rough idea on the process that the Davao City Council adheres to when approving or disapproving any petition/bid by a company or industry.

Di lang ako sure kung talagang si Councilor po yung nagme-maintain ng blog nato but I would appreciate any help on this matter. Thanks!

there was mention of economic benefits but how does it work was not really stated to help readers understand if these ties have any difference with benefits davao can derive from direct trade/sales mission to wealthy, cash rich cities that has great potentials of willing investor yield?

Wow, great article! This is quite a blog you've got going here. I just wanted to bring up a way to smoke that doesn't affect others (for all you smokers who wish you could go back to the days where you could smoke anywhere and not have to pay ridiculously high tobacco taxes). Smoking bans (and ridiculously high tobacco taxes) don't affect me (even though I smoke a pack a day) anymore since I switched to electronic cigarettes. E-cigarettes are much safer than regular cigarettes, and you can smoke them anywhere cigarettes are banned (bars, restaurants, even airplanes).

I found this blog that helped me figure out which brand of e-cigarette I should buy. If you're considering switching over, I hope this page helps you like it helped me:

Congratulations to the City Council and the City Mayor's Office for another fruitful year. I hope our congressman (1D) can do the same. Anyway, I'd just like to raise this issue I read from a blog listed in davaoblogs.com. Its about these little children lining up along the diversion road to beg for money. I know its a season for giving but begging at the roadside with all the speeding cars poses danger to these children. I think we can all have a Merry Christmas if we can at least ensure the safety of these children. I am sorry this is all that i can do because I am currently away from Davao. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
